Inspiring People to Connect with Nature through Conservation Storytelling, Travel, and Outdoor Experiences
MY STORY
I’m a marine scientist and photographer drawn to the places where conservation, outdoor experiences, wildlife, and adventure intersect.
Long before photography became the focus of my work, I was already in the field—studying coral reefs and fisheries, supporting conservation planning, working in marine resource management, and learning how to translate complex science into stories that connect people to the natural world.
I hold a Master of Science in Marine Resource Assessment from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation, with a focus in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, from the University of Florida. My professional background spans marine science, fisheries, coral reef conservation, environmental review, stakeholder engagement, and coastal resource management, with experience across government agencies, nonprofits, and research-focused organizations. Over the years, I’ve worked on projects involving coral reef initiatives, fisheries research, habitat assessments, conservation planning, outreach, and science communication—always grounded in the belief that protecting wild places starts with helping people understand why they matter. That foundation is what shapes the way I approach photography.
I’m not just interested in creating beautiful images—I’m interested in telling real stories: the science behind a species, the people behind a conservation effort, the fieldwork behind restoration, and the sense of wonder that draws us into wild places in the first place. Whether it’s documenting marine research, coral restoration, underwater wildlife behavior, outdoor experiences, or remote adventures, I bring both a visual eye and a scientific understanding of what’s unfolding in front of me.
Travel has been part of my life for more than a decade, and it has deeply shaped the work I’m building. I’ve traveled to 26 countries, often seeking out experiences rooted in exploration, immersion, and connection to the natural world—from trekking in Patagonia, exploring remote deserts and salt flats in Bolivia, to jungle trekking for orangutans and spending months diving in Southeast Asia. These experiences are what continue to pull me toward underwater, conservation, and adventure storytelling—the kind of work that lives in remote places, asks for curiosity and resilience, and captures the feeling of being fully present in the wild.
One of the most formative chapters of that journey was spending five months in Southeast Asia, including two months in Indonesia where I completed my SSI Divemaster while working as a marine conservation intern. During that time, I conducted benthic surveys, roving fish surveys, and BRUV work; supported coral nursery maintenance and coral transplantation; and collected manta ray photo-identification data. That experience reinforced what I had already come to know through science: some of the most powerful stories happen where people, place, and conservation meet.
Today, my work is focused on underwater, wildlife, outdoor and adventure storytelling—with a special interest in projects rooted in conservation, the outdoors, exploration, and meaningful experiences in wild places. I’m especially drawn to working with outdoor brands and on projects that document marine research, fieldwork, restoration, expedition travel, outdoor experiences, wildlife encounters, and conservation efforts above and below the surface.
What I bring is a scientific foundation, field experience, comfort in remote and dynamic environments, and a genuine commitment to telling stories with depth and integrity. It’s work rooted in science, shaped by travel, and driven by a lifelong pull toward the wild.
